Put on the Beach Boys, Lay out the pool toys
Gonna find a chaise lounge, I'm gonna turn light brown
Darken my complexion, With SPF Protection
Gonna lay around all day until the job gets done
Gonna lay around all day until the job gets done
Pass me the lotion please, Alright.
Will you do my back? Oh yeah!
Point the chairs direction, to the sun's reflection
Working on a deep base, soaking in the sunrays
Fronting like a bronze god, but built with a dad bod!
Gonna lay around all day until the job gets done
Gonna lay around all day until the job gets done
Gonna lay around all day until the job gets done

Trying hard to leave the city
The traffic can be bad this time of year.
The ride is long but you roll down your window
To smell the marsh, we’re almost there
There ain’t no fancy settings on our table
Just some cold beer and some steamers, I hope you’ll try
The corn from Peters Farm is to die for
Welcome to my 4th of July
The neighbors fire up some Roman candles
Sail like glowing sparrows in the sky
Sparklers and tiny flags are waving
Welcome to my 4th of July
We all file down, to the shoreline
The water shimmers slowly in the night
Young lovers stagger home from the party
Welcome to my 4th of July
The lights are on, down at the harbor
Your dress matches the color of your eyes.
The summer sun is slowly rising
Welcome to my 4th of July
Welcome to my 4th of July

Fourth of July, She told me goodbye
Now I'm a goner, I’m as lonesome as child
Fireworks alight, Red hot, blue, and white
And where it got me, I’m all beat up from our fight
Aint it right, we broke up tonight?
My hearts a bursting Milky Way
Now I'm single, on Independence Day
Drunk as a skunk, I got in a funk
And she had had it, with my ineffectual spunk
I can't ignite, Her flame zipped up tight
She wants another, to arouse her heart aflight
Aint it right, we broke up tonight?
My hearts a bursting Milky Way
Now I'm single, on Independence Day
She don't care, bout ‘bout this drunken flair
This rockets a dud anyway
Now I'm single on Independence Day
Aint it right, we broke up tonight?
My hearts a bursting Milky Way
Now I'm single, on Independence Day
Now I'm single, on Independence Day

Best Days of the Summer

A summer night, the twelfth of June
Perfect time for a swim, by the light of the moon
But someone took my clothes. And man that water was cold
So I searched around to find my stuff
I can’t tell you just how, inconvenient that was
No keys, no phone no cash…for a cab ride home
So I grabbed some tree branches, I wore nothing but leaves,
Then hauling down the road well, who do I see
It’s you in my truck. Yeah, that’s some kind of luck
Every time you come around
It’s like fireworks shining down
You light up the sky, and you don’t even try
You’re like the best days of summer; you’re my 4th of July
I saw you again a few other times,
But it wasn’t until that Saturday night
You took me to town, showed this cowboy around
You told the police man outside of the bar,
that I stole your heart, so you stole my car
And his response, “Boy, give her whatever she wants”
Every time you come around
It’s like fireworks shining down
You light up the sky, and you don’t even try
You’re like the best days of summer; you’re my 4th of July
And I’m looking forward to the 4th of July,
‘Cause I made big plans for my baby and I
Lined up the perfect date, yeah, swimming down by that lake
And a couple of beers with a firework show,
But when we got back to the shore, where were my clothes
I just looked at you, laughed “Honey, what did you do?”
Every time you come around
It’s like fireworks shining down
You light up the sky, and you don’t even try
You’re like the best days of summer; you’re my 4th of July

Fresh grilled corn on the cob
Get yer some at Arkansas Bobs
Wash your hands you stinking dirty slob
'Fore you touch that corn on the cob
You been thinking bout that pole corn, all gosh darn week
and had to peel the husk back to get a sneaky peak
At them juicy yellow kernels of insatiable delight
You might just have to take a sweetpole home with you tonight
Fresh grilled corn on the cob
Get yer some at Arkansas Bobs
Wash your hands you stinking dirty slob
'Fore you touch that corn on the cob
I got my magic recipe from a Chickasaw Indian Chief
He had a bit o' succotash stuck between his teeth
"Hoggin' on that cornstick, you get a salty taste,
Don't get zealous with yer chewin' lest it squirt up in your face!"
Fresh grilled corn on the cob
Get yer some at Arkansas Bobs
Wash your hands you stinking dirty slob
'Fore you touch that corn on the cob

M80s, bottle rockets and Pabst Blue Ribbon,
'Cuz drinkin' and fishin' sure beats workin' for a livin'
Our day of independence all too soon will pass
If you don't like my brand of freedom, brother you can kiss my ass
Let us honor our forefathers the way they did it in their time
By setting off our firearms and gettin' drunk out of our minds
Don't worry about the neighbors if they take it all too hard
If they don't like our grass then they can get out of our yard"
It's how we show our love of country, although you might think it strange
That the horseshoe pit is lookin' more like an artillery range
We got smoke on the water; we got fire in the sky
Explosive ordnance and alcohol: American as apple pie
M80s, bottle rockets and Pabst Blue Ribbon,
'Cuz drinkin' and fishin' sure beats workin' for a livin'
Our day of independence all too soon will pass
If you don't like my brand of freedom, brother you can kiss my ass

It's Independence Day. What? What?
It's Independence Day! That's what I thought you said
It's Independence Day. What? What?
It's Independence Day! That's what I thought you said
Some people like Christmas, for some its Halloween
But I'm down with the 4th, if you know what I mean
It's got fireworks and barbecue, and national pride
Canada and Mexico, please step aside
We fought the British and threw all their tea
Into the harbor in the name of liberty
Washington and Franklin, they founded this place
Sam Adams and John Hancock, they will punch you in the face
Bad mouth America? Well, don’t even try
Just raise a glass and Happy Fourth of July!
It's Independence Day. What? What?
It's Independence Day! That's what I thought you said
It's Independence Day. What? What?
It's Independence Day! That's what I thought you said
We have dinner at home then wait until dark
Then we go out as a family, walk down to the park
The town fireworks show always be illin’
And that grand finale, yeah you know that’s killin’
A late night treat, oh man we're in luck
Here comes the friendly neighborhood ice cream truck
The weather in July so hot, it's tropical
I order us a round of red, white and blue popsicles.
I reach into my pocket but something is wrong
My wallet is missing, oh where has it gone?
I got no money to pay the Ice Cream Guy
But he just smiles and says Happy Fourth of July
It's Independence Day. What? What?
It's Independence Day! That's what I thought you said
It's Independence Day. What? What?
It's Independence Day! That's what I thought you said
It's the highlight of the summer, it's my favorite time
It inspires me to write these mad nasty rhymes.
Stringing prose together, I'll show you how it's done
Like the Declaration of Independence by Thomas Jefferson
These truths are self-evident and other famous lines
So girls get on that dance floor, start shaking your behinds.
Gonna party down to the break of dawn
‘Cause our founding fathers knew how to get it on
M80s, Bottle rockets, we got an endless supply
So let’s light ‘em up and happy 4th of July!
It's Independence Day. What? What?
It's Independence Day! That's what I thought you said
It's Independence Day. What? What?
It's Independence Day! That's what I thought you said

Ballad of the Clammer
Oh my little sweet one, whisper in your ear
Oh my little sweet one, summertime is here
Meet me by the flats, or I’ll meet you by the pier
Oh my little sweet one, summer time is here
Summers starting out, like it will never end
I’ve got a feeling, we’ll be much more than friends
Spend my days clamming (out), on the Joppa flats
These summer nights with you, have me never looking back… Chorus
Been raking up the longnecks, and raking in the cash
I kissed you at the clam bake when I got the chance
July is like a sandbar, with every tide it goes
Watch out for your lunch, when the gulls are flying low… Chorus
The August nights are longer, the summers getting short
But I’m not sure my sweet one loves me anymore
I hear the back to school ads on the radio
I asked her if she’d stay, but she said she had to go… Chorus
Oh my little sweet one, whisper in your ear
Oh my little sweet one, summertime is here
Meet me by the flats, or I’ll meet you at the pier
Oh my little sweet one, summer time is here

The pool party's hopping, bikinis were popping
Distracted by their motion, I forgot to add more lotion!
I'm red as a lobster, was I hit by a boxer?
How I love these sunny days but I hate the sun
How I love these sunny days but I hate the sun
Where did the time go? Anyone have some aloe?
I got me a feeling, I'll soon be a peeling
I need more dedication, to lotion reapplication!
